Würzburg has two AI centers; with the training, your team gets its own system

The State Office for Statistics counted 133,753 residents in Würzburg as of 31 December 2025; the city is the seat of the government of Lower Franconia. Standortportal Bayern puts the economic area of city and district at around 300,000 people. Industrial products from the city include printing presses from Koenig & Bauer, which is headquartered here, gantry cranes from Konecranes and electric motors from Brose.

With the university, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and the University of Music, Würzburg has three higher education institutions and more than 30,000 students. The university opened its AI center CAIDAS on 19 April 2024 and offers a bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science; THWS has run the AI center CAIRO.thws since 2021. The Center for Digital Innovations Mainfranken supports digital start-ups, and in August 2026 the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the university launched a survey on AI use and training needs in the region.
