Simbach and Braunau form one economic area, and AI literacy applies on both sides of the border
Simbach am Inn had 10,311 inhabitants on 31 Dec 2025 and borders directly on Braunau am Inn. Together with Kirchdorf, more than 32,000 people live in the Simbach Inn basin. According to the city marketing office, Braunau and Simbach form a cross-border economic axis with more than 20,000 employees in around 2,000 companies.
In Simbach itself, Knauf Insulation manufactures insulation materials and Schütz produces industrial bulk packaging. Together, the two towns operate the Braunau-Simbach geothermal heating plant, Europe's first cross-border district heating system.
For businesses with customers and staff on both sides, the same rule applies: the AI Act is EU law, and the AI literacy obligation under Article 4 holds in Bavaria just as in Upper Austria. Our training puts it into practice within the business.
Half an hour, precisely 31 minutes by the route planner, between our headquarters and the banks of the Inn. Prefer digital? Then you get the training online.
Lessons from the AI training for daily work in the Inn basin
Industry along the Inn produces data sheets, test reports and technical inquiries. In services it is job ads, customer texts and coordination across the border.
Since Austrian and German customers prefer some things phrased differently, we set up both versions in the system's rulebook.
| Everyday task | What your team practices in the training |
|---|---|
| Queries about technical data | Answer from data sheets, matching every value with its source |
| Documentation and test reports | Shape notes into structured reports |
| Proposals for customers in Germany and Austria | Adapt text modules per market, for customers in Germany and Austria |
| Job ads and internal texts | Let the AI write drafts, then rework them in the company's tone |
Tailoring the training to businesses on the Inn
Setup, practice and record all happen in one continuous appointment. Anything that proves tricky in daily work afterwards is addressed in the follow-up session during the first month.
