Bad Reichenhall location

Bad Reichenhall is a major district town and the seat of the Berchtesgadener Land district, with 18,284 inhabitants as of December 31, 2025. Since 1846 the town has lived largely from tourism and its spa businesses as a health resort, and since 1899 it has held the title Königlich Bayerisches Staatsbad (Royal Bavarian State Spa). The saltworks produce the Reichenhaller brand salt, and since 2020 the town has been home to the Bavarian State Office for Weights and Measures.
